Appliance Repair Questions? Ask a Technician for Answers ASAP
Hi, welcome to Just answer
How old is it ?
so now the power is there to the unit
and the fan will keep on running
even after the oven has cooled down
is that right ?
yes, fan runs as soon as oven is powered
sorry can you please elaborate your problem
without any of the oven or grills switched on the cooling fan is running
When the oven is heating up, does the cooling fan cut in and run or it wont cut
keeps running continuously
there seems to be two fans when the oven is on they both run, when off just one
there is just one fan in this model
it should run for around 15-20 minutes after the unit is off and then stop
there are three thermostats
one of them is the safety cut out
this is the first one
and this is the second one
which one has been replaced ?
this is the one i changed to get power back
ok, can you test the second one with a multimeter ?
It should be on the rear of the ovens or if it is not at the rear then it is at the top but normally should be at the rear
the second one looks the same as the first & it's normally closed
ok, so when you start it works fine the lights come on fine and then it heats fine but when you turn it off the fan will keep on running
I hope the thermostat is changed correctly
yes thats right, but there was no power at all until i changed it
basically there are two things that will cause this problem...first, thermal cut out (thermostat) that keeps the fan running until the unit has cooled down and second there is a four wire device that keeps the fan running
if it runs continuously do you also get a burning smell ?
ok, can you remove the back panel and check the winding's of the fan ... If it looks fine you can remove the two connections to the main oven fan and tape them up. Then switch the oven on again and see if the cooling fan has stopped running.
is there another circuit to power the appliance separate from the thermo switches
timer control itself but I dont think that is bad as everything works fine
if the thermos are fine the problem can be with the fan itself
OK it's my mothers oven & won't be back there again until tomorrow, i will disconnect the fan then, is there a relay or something that starts the fan
the fan motor and thermostat controls the fan
OK thank you,is there any way i can get a wiring diagram just to check everything ?
unfortunately I do not have access to the wiring diagram for this model
