Hi, welcome to Just answer
How old is it ?
It was installed in 2009
The display is stuck on ----c ?
is it giving a error code ?
where the clock and timer is a display it is stuck on ----c centagrade!!! it will not let me turn the oven on.
I have tried lots of things turning it off at the mains etc nothing seems to be working. I had baked some biscuits yesterday afternoon when to but the fish pie in and set it on a timer as I have done in the past. this time it stuck on ----c
OK, does it have a manual and hold button ?
No I don't have a manual that is why I am asking the question it has left side set & OK buttons right side of display - & + buttons
OK, can you press and hold BROIL for 15 seconds.
and let me know if it will reset
what is BROIL?
does this have 4 buttons or 6 buttons ?
4 buttons SET , OK, - & +
OK... Press “ok”. The time of day flashes on the display. Then Press button “-” or “+” to set the hour and Press “ok” and “-” or “+” to set the minutes. Press “ok” to confirm.
the clock already set 16:36
If I press set it comes up with the timer
Press “set” to set the end of cooking time: the indicator next to the power symbol lights up. Set the end of cooking time using button “-” or “+”. Press “ok” to confirm the end of cooking time
I did this for 1 minute it has End and flashing display
so now END is flashing
or still --- c is flashing ?
END is Flashing
Pressed OK went to turn oven on it has gone back to ------o C
ok does it have a precise clean button ?
what is a precise clean button?
ok flashing --- c means Centigrade
the only way to reset it is by pressing and holding the 2nd and 4th button on the control
ok thats what I thought Have not had this before
Little green arrow above the oC below the display
and you pressed the OK and - buttons together
ok and - buttons together still flashing ---c
turn the function selector knob to 0
and the thermostat knob to 0
then press OK
done that back to the clock
ok now with the function selector knob turned to 0 press OK
function selector back to 0 thermo back to off still on clock display
and --- c still there ?
no it's back to the clock display
ok great ...if the problem appears again turn both the knobs to 0 and then press OK
sorry earlier I thought it was stuck on the controls
You can get back to me if you need any assistance and I will help with no additional charges.....Is there anything else I can assist you with today ?
still not working when I turn the Function knob to fan oven it is flashing ---c still you haven't solved the problem I can not use my oven !!!!!
OK I thought you said its not there
if it still comes up then the problem is with the timer control that is bad and will need replacement
before replacing you can also take the fascia off
what not there ? when I try to set the function knob to oven it comes back I have to go out now as a friend is going to cook the fish pie we were suppose to have last night. I would like the money back if you can not solve it Please
then disconnect the connector from the timer one by one and connect them back together
If you want to replace the timer control yourself then let me know so that I can provide you with instructions
how do I disconnect the connector from the timer one by one
take the fascia off the unit
do I need to take off the knobs I have taken out the screws from the top
yes that is right
How do I get the knobs off
you can just pull them off
it is open know I have a curcit board behind the digital display what next?
just check the connectors to it
make sure everything is unplugged
check the connectors where? behing the function knob there are 2 connectors
just pull them off and then connect them back again
done that now what?
just plug it back and see if the error is still there
Switched it on and flashing digital clock flashing
and now when you turn it to fan
do you still see ----c ?
putting knobs back on
knobs back on function knob turned to Fan themo Knob back on and set at 150 digital display flashing ----c again
select some other function
and check if the same error appears
selected grill still flashing ---c could it be the urcit board and can I disconnect to use the oven
no I dont think it is the circuity board
it seems the oven is overheating and causing this error
can you test the thermostat with a multimeter
no I am not an electrican
you have also tried to reset it by pressing the ok and - button but that is not working as well
I understand I was just asking if you can do that
if not then it is better to get it done through a repair engineer
have pressed the ok - button for 15 seconds still flashing ---c
a new timer will cost £65 and a new thermostat will cost £47
is this what you think it is?
if so would I be able to fit myself a
I would still recommend someone should test it with a multimeter first
it is unlikely that it will test fine
so I need a technicion to test
a repair engineer can do this
