Hi, I have a zanussi wjd 1667w washer/dryer. Ive just cleaned

Customer Question

Hi, I have a zanussi wjd 1667w washer/dryer. I've just cleaned the condenser by removing the back half of the machine. I've also had it on its side to check out the drainage pump. Everything is now back together, but the machine won't budge from sitting at the start time. A faint buzzing can be heard but no other movement.
I've done the "hold start a skip" button thing and it gives me a ee0 code. This code is different to other codes last night so not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing.
I've checked all visible connectors and all seem intact, but no joy.
When cycling through the reset options, it will start to turn the drum, and also start up the dryer cycle, but none of it is connected to performing a full cycle.

Any help will be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance -Steve

Hiya,
There is no code EE0 listed.
Can you check again for the code please?

Do you see this code at the 2nd bottom led of the second column when you are in diagnostics?

Try running the machine and then check for the code.

When you had it on it's side (bad idea), which side did you lay it on?

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Hi, just tried to run the machine again - it just sat there on 125 minutes (on a synthetic wash - 40c).
Cycles through the diagnostic again and selected the second bottom led on the second bank of LEDs and got the code EOO (or could be E zero zero).

When on side to check pump, it was on its left hand side. This did cause the plastic tube that joins the drum to the condenser to come away, but I've fitted all that back and checked the sensor and wires going into the plastic hose
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
Very strange, E00 indicates no fault.

Left side is ok for it to be on.

The machine should go into error mode but with nothing, it's so very strange.
Especially if it's doing all it should in diagnostics.

When you come out of diagnostics, do you switch off, on and off again?

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Yes. Interestingly though, it's only just stopped beeping if you push the buttons - always used to beep.
Currently the back is all off. Does it have a kill switch if it's not secure?
If I select other led positions on the second bank it will start to do things like the dryer fan. Don't know if that helps at all?
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
No, no kill switch.

Go into diagnostics.
When the lights are scrolling, each time you press the fabric button the light should move down.
Each position on the left and 2nd column all have an action.

What happens when you go to the 2nd top led on the 1st column?

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
The machine starts filling with water
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, so from the various positions we know it's actually working.

How long did you leave it when you tried a new program?
What happens if you select spin only?

Does the door lock when you try a program?

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I tried it after it put it back together but the water came out due to the fact the plastic hose connecting the drum and condenser had come away when I turned it on its side. It the error end after I sorted that and then left it cause I thought some bits had got wet.

Tried it again this morning and still nothing. I've just turned back on after doing the last diagnostic and the message is EEO

The doer locks every time and unlocks when u go through the skip sequence

When I skip to the spin, the door locks, but the machine just sits there
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Should I let it complete its diagnostic? I turn it off when it starts to do something as the machine isn't fully secure and don't want it to sudden shake itself apart
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, is the error EE0 or E00, you've posted both, one is no error and the other doesn't exist.

On a normal wash, not diagnostics, does the door lock when you start the program?

In diagnostics, does the drain pump run on any of the settings?

You'll need to check the wiring in the machine.
It's looking like something has disconnected when you had it on it's side.

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Originally it was Eoo, but now after doing the last test it showed eeo.

The door locks each time

There is one connector I noticed that's not connected at the top of the machine by a black round box (132090302 written on it) but can't see anywhere it should go. Thought it was a spare cable for a different model configuration
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
Yes, that's spare.

EE0 isn't a good sign.
What does it show if you go to the bottom led of the 2nd column?

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
0-1
I then just pressed the start button and it went up to 0-2????
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, press and release the start button repeatedly until you get it back to 1.

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Ok
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, when you have 0-1 on the screen, press the skip button, note the next right hand digit.
Do this until you get to F-?

Let me know the sequence of digits, there should be 16 of them.

Then, switch off, on and off again.

Thanks

Hiya,
OK, thanks for that.

The configuration code is ok.
Switch off, on and off again.

Set it to a cold program and start it.
The door locks, anything else?

Wait 10 minutes, see if a code comes up.

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Ok, I've set to 30oc on synthetics. The door has locked. As yet, nothing else. Will let u know after 10 mins
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, leave it as long as you can, the machine should register a fault.

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Hi, it just came up with E20
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
Check your drain pump.
It's either disconnected, faulty or the control for it has blown.

Go into diagnostics, retrieve the stored error.
What is it?

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Apologies, which led button position gives me the error code for the pump
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
Stored errors, 2nd bottom led of the 2nd column.

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
E21
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, that's a draining failure.
I'd suggest you check the pressure switch first.

Unplug the appliance.
Take the top off.
Locate the pressure switch(es).
Take the thin tube attached off (if there are 2 switches take both tubes off).

Block 1 tube and blow down the other to clear any debris.

Refit the tubes and try on spin only.
What happens?

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Really sorry for the stupid question, but where are the pressure switches? Are they the ones coming out from the long foil wrapped case?
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
No, they are the ones that have a thin tube on them that runs down to the bottom of the machine.
Normally at the top, toward the rear on the right.

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Ok, I released one and blew. Coulfd hear water being pushed. Reattached and the put the machine on synthetic and skipped to spin. Door locked and after about 30 secs the drum started to spin and the turned continuously. There's still water in the drum so switched off
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, check your drain pump.
Is it disconnected?
Is it faulty?

If the pump is ok and the wiring is ok, it's a control board failure.

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I did originally think the pump was the issue, but didn't want to believe it. The pump looks fine and everything is connected. I've just tried to skip through the cycle to the drain part and the water is just swilling around the drum. I checked the pump pipes and they were clear and the filter is clear too.
It's doing much more than before
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
You need a multimeter to test the pump.

See if it's open circuit, see if it's being powered.

If it's open circuit, faulty pump.
If it's not being powered, wiring or board.

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.
Thanks - I've lent the tester to my brother so I think that means we've come to the end! At least we've narrowed it down now. Thanks for your help and patience
Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
You're very welcome.

Good luck with the rest of the repair.
You've narrowed it down to the pump, wiring and/or control board.

Thanks
