Hiya,
Do you have a model number for the appliance please?

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

no, I don't know the model number. the style of the unit is a free standing freezer unit on the bottom with fridge unit on top. between the two parts are 3 lights, orange to the left, red in the centre and green on the right hand side.

Hiya,
Sorry, the style doesn't help find the service information for the machine.

There should be a label inside the fridge, check behind the salad drawers.

Thanks

Hiya,
Thanks for that.

There's not a lot of information on this machine.
There's only a parts list now.

Previously, if you pressed the green button, did it latch in when pressed and unlatch when pressed again, or, has it always been a soft touch momentary switch?

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Yes, the green switch latchs in when pressed, then the orange and red lights come on and the motor begins.

Right now, the fridge appears to be working again.

I am worried that a problem is evolving and should be remedied.

Hiya,
OK, from your first post it appeared to me that the switch wasn't latching.
Now I know that it is.

If it wasn't latching, switch appears to be failing.
If it was latching, the switch is definitely failing.

Monitor it for a few days and see what happens.
If it goes off again, you'll need to gain access to the switch so you can test it with a multimeter.

Obviously, if you cannot do this yourself, you'll need to get someone to test it for you.

Thanks
