How do you fit a Haier retaining clamp ring (door seal)

Resolved Question:

How do you fit a 'Haier HEC, HMS, HNS, HWC, HWD, HWE, HWDD, PFL Series' front retaining clamp ring as seen here: http://www.all-spares.co.uk/pages/door-gaskets-seals/4572-front-retaining-ring-haier.html

I have the clamp and seal ready to go on the washer dryer but cannot find adequate fitting instructions online. I want to know how to fit it so that I don't break anything doing so and hence willing to pay fro expert advice. I suspect the hook and the eyelet go together on the same bolt that screws into the front panel by the seal. The trouble is that the retaining ring is not long enough to go all the way around and seems to have to be stretched round the seal but seems to be very high tension if so, as if requiring a special tool perhaps? Maybe something like tire levers for changing bike tires perhaps? I just don't want to break it. Please help as my clothes smell a bit now.

Hello there,

I've been working hard to find a Professional to assist you with your question, but sometimes finding the right Professional can take a little longer than expected.

I wonder whether you're ok with continuing to wait for an answer. If you are, please let me know and I will continue my search. If not, feel free to let me know and I will cancel this question for you and refund your deposit.

Please note, I am just a moderator for this category, I can only try and find experts to help, I can't answer the question itself.

Thank you!

Adam

I am happy to wait a bit more but not sure it is worth upping the price as it should be a simple problem. Haier may not be that common yet in the UK but it is the biggest washing machine manufacturer in the world. I was hopping for a quick 'do it this way, it won't break it' answer.

Hello,

Thanks for replying.

We will continue to look for a Professional to assist you.

If you decide on a refund, or wish to keep the credit for a future question, then of course we'd honour it.

Thank you for your patience,

Adam

Hiya,
You fit the shaped end to the machine with the screw.
The hook then goes on the shoulder of the wire (just below the screw).
You then work your way round fitting the ring into the door seal and the final part, you use a thin screwdriver to lever it over into the groove in the seal.

Not the easiest one to do but once you've done it, it gets easier.

Try it, see how it goes and get back to me if you need more help.

Hope the helps
Thanks

Hi Techdesk
I managed it with two thin flat head screw drivers it the end. Lucky I waited though as I had though that the hook went on the crew that went through the eyelet. Had I tried to fit it that way I would have chewed up the rubber seal I expect.

Thank you very much,

Alex

Hiya,
You're welcome.

Sorry I didn't spot your question sooner.
The picture you posted helped solve it.

Good luck with the appliance.

Haier has been here for many years, all rebadged under other brand names.

Bush, Russell Hobbs and several others.
Loads of their dishwashers too.

Thanks
