Hiya,
Can you post the model number of the appliance please?
Has it stopped full or empty of water?

Does your machine have a display or only lights?

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
ZWGB7160P, there is still water but not full, lights
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, thanks for that.

If you can, cancel the existing program and select spin only.
Does the door click and lock?
Do you hear the drain pump run or just a hum instead?

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Tried already, door does not click, hum
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, the door doesn't click and lock?
But, you do hear a hum from the drain pump?

If this is correct you'll need to access and clean out the filter.

To do this, remove the laundry from the machine.

Turn the inner drum until the filter lines up with the arrow on the door seal.
Open the filter.
Remove any debris.
Take the filter out and clean out any debris in the filter and in the chamber.

Refit the filter and try the machine on spin only again, see if it now drains

Let me know what you find.
Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
The Door was already locked, when turned to spin number 17 came up in display now at 16 but nothing happening for much longer than 1 minute
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
Sorry, as per my previous post, you need to check the filter.
From what you've posted it would suggest you have a blockage in the filter or pump.

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Yes but I can't get the door opened to check the filter as machine is locked and partially full of water
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
Cancel the program, the machine should unlock as long as the water is below the door level.

If not, you'll need to drag the machine out and lay the drain hose flat on the floor, with the end in a bucket, to drain the water out.

Thanks

Have tried cancelling code E20 on screen
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya
E20 is a draining failure.
Until you resolve the problem it will keep giving that code.

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Will try to drain manually, but will be later, thanks
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
No problem.
Good luck with it.
Just post when you can.

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Emptied filter and tried spin cycle - no response other than humming sound that it is thinking of starting programme
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
The hum, I am assuming, is from the drain pump.

As it's humming when the machine is empty of water, it suggests there's something in the pump preventing it running.

Take the filter out again and look into the filter housing.
Do you see the pump impellor?
If you do, turn it manually.
Does it turn?

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Not sure what the impeller is ther are 2 metal pipes that look like an element
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, thanks for that.

Unfortunately it sounds like something has gotten into the pump, preventing it running.

The only check you can do now is to check the drain hose where it connects to the house drains.
However, if you used the hose to drain the machine, we know it's clear and the fault lies with the pump.

How old is your machine?
Is it still under warranty?

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Don't think it is under warranty probably 2/3 years old
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, thanks for that.

The next step is to gain access to the drain pump.
Check that it's this that is humming and if it is, take the pump out so it can be cleaned out (if it's jammed).

Check it out, see what you find and get back to me.
Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Think I will need to get an engineer as not to keen on trying to take the machine apart
Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
Thanks for letting me know.

Good luck with the repair.

At least you've managed to check the obvious causes and rule them out.

Hopefully it's only a blocked pump and relatively inexpensive repair.

Thanks
