Sometimes the cycle stops either half way through or 8 mins till
The end. Any ideas ???

Yes have u any suggestions as I have a new born and I haven't got time for the machine to stop

Unfortunately that is a sign of a bad main control board.
If this happens on all wash cycles, then the timer is bad.
It is fairly easy to replace if you have the tools and are handy but if not it would be best at this point to call in an appliance tech to fix this for you.
