Hi, welcome to Just answer
Please tell me its complete model number
and how old is it ?
ac2224gekb and is 7 years old
The problem is due to the defrost system of the unit, the extra frost that occurs at the back of the fridge prevents the compressor to cool the refrigerator. This frost will block the evaporator fan motor from blowing the cold air around and the fan blade can also hit this frost and either becomes noisy or stop altogether. If you have already checked the rear of the unit and there is no ice & the fan works fine then the problem is with the defrost thermostat or defrost heater...however..replacing both is recommended
I have not checked the back of the appliance
if you want you can pull the unit out to take a look
ok it will take a few minutes
however, looking at the age of the unit the problem is with the defrost system
let me know how it goes
I cant get the unit out on my own but should probably do as you suggest .Who are the best people to fix it in the west of scotland? Before I do that I will get my son to help me pull it out to check the back.
