Hi, welcome to Just answer

KevinWhiteJA :

How old is the washer ?

KevinWhiteJA :

Can you please provide its complete model number

Customer:

JLWM1203 type h1942431 prod no XXXXXXXXX 00

KevinWhiteJA :

ok and how old is it ?

Customer:

I'm guessing about 4 years - serial number 917 00039, if that helps

KevinWhiteJA :

ok

KevinWhiteJA :

E31 is a pressure sensor error...you will have to take the top off the washer and locate the pressure switch/hose

KevinWhiteJA :

it has a thin hose attached to it

KevinWhiteJA :

check to make sure that is not clogged and then give a tap with back of screw driver on the pressure switch

KevinWhiteJA :

let me know how it goes

Customer:

would this be a blue cylinder - metalflex? towards the back on the right hand side looking from the front?

KevinWhiteJA :

XXXXX XXXXX JLWM1203 Pressure Switch

KevinWhiteJA :

Customer:

So.. you may just have saved me a trip to the tip tomorrow, because this washing machine was really winding me up, but I have just done one rinse cycle, 1 wash cycle straight through with no problems, which means it's an automatic again. I disconnected the pressure switch, took the hose off and blew down it, shook the switch and put it back. Not professional but appears to have worked. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
