Ok if you feel inside the ice maker mold at the top of the freezer is there any ice it the tray?

Ok what usually happens on these is the water feed tube above the ice maker tray in the far left corner freezes up and this stops the water from getting into the tray.

 

What you can do if you can is pull the rubber bung off that goes into the top of the tray. Be carefull as if its iced up it can split.

 

Then pull the appliance out and look on the back in the top right corner and you will see the water pipe going to the ice maker.

Remove the water pipe then you can remove the 2 screws holding the bracket in and try and remove that but be carefull as there is a heater wrapped around it.

 

Now to be honest most of the time its hard to remove that so you may need to try and poke something up the tube from the inside and try and clear the ice from there.

 

Or failing all that if you can empty the appliance and turn it off and leave the freezer door open for 24 hours and this will allow the ice in the tube to defrost.

 

Once its all clear that should cure the fault and get the ice maker up and running again.

 

Ive seen this fault quite a lot on there so that should cure it.

thanks, XXXXX XXXXX felt the tube going into the top of ice tray and it seemed to have ice in side it.


One question i have is can i defrost the freezer part without turning off the fridge part

Im afraid not as the fridge actually gets its cooling from the freezer section. So if the freezer goes off the fridge will as well, sorry.
