Hiya,
You need to take the cover off of the microwave to access this.

I do have to post the safety warning I'm afraid as microwave ovens can be dangerous. Be careful when working on it and you should come to no harm.

The warning is -
Be aware, microwave ovens can store a charge of over 4000 volts, even when unplugged.
You should have the knowledge and tools to safely discharge this before working on the appliance.

As to the problem you have with the button.
Once the cover is off, look at the bottom front, on the inside, and you'll see where the button comes through and the mechanism it works to open the door.

The long bar lifts up a little to unlock the door.

It's unlikely the button is the cause of the problem but, to replace it, you take the screws holding the front panel in place out.
Lift the front panel up a little and it comes off.
You can now access the button.

Hope this helps
Let me know how it goes
Thanks
