just installed a SMS40T42UK dishwasher. On trying it out, it has stopped without pumping out. Washing light is flashing. Reset has no effect.

Hiya,
Check the drain hose.
See if it's still plugged.
Also check the connection it goes onto, see if that's been opened.

The normal cause of not pumping out for a new dishwasher is the drain hose or drain connection is still blocked.

machine end of hose connects internally. Other end has no plug. Ive taken it off the trap and put it into a bucket. Nothing happening.

I know the machine end is internal.

If you cancel the existing program, do you hear the drain pump hum/run?

Have you tried a length of cable poked down the hose to see if it's plugged?
