Hi, welcome to Just answer
How old is it ?
Think we have had for 6 years but according to serial number it is just over 8 years old from manufacture
E1 error means water has leaked into the base of the unit
You will have to pull the unit out and lay it on its back by around 45 degrees
so that all the water drains out
after this is done remove the lower front panel of the unit
and clean the drain pump assembly completely
We had a leak from it so is that causing the E1 or did the E1cause the leak? If it has an E1 should it still fill with water?
Yes the leak is causing E1 error
and yes it will still fill with water...at times it overfills
I will try that and see if it solves
It should solve the problem :) If you have further questions I will be pleased to assist you – please use the REPLY link for further assistance..Please remember to RATE my answer Excellent or Good Service ....Thanks

Decided to call an engineer to visit. The E1 was caused by the leak however the leak itself was caused by a faulty inlet valve which was why it was still filling with water. Whilst response was prompt it was solving the symptoms not the problem so I would not expect to be charged for my question. How do we go about this?
Well that is what I said...E1 is caused due to a leak...for refund please contact customer service
