Where do I find the inlet filters on a Whirlpool dishwashe

Customer Question

Where do I find the inlet filters on a Whirlpool dishwasher?

Hiya,
Take the fill hose off and you'll find the filter screens in the valve and/or hose ends.

If water is actually getting into the machine, it would suggest the flow meter in the plastic tank on the left side of the machine is at fault.

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

So how will I know if the flow meter is at fault? And what do I do about it?

Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
First you check to see if water is getting in.
If it is, you then check the connection to the flowmeter (You unplug it and plug it back on)
If still the same, you need to obtain and fit a new flowmeter.

Thanks
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

I'm just trying it to see if water is getting in.

The trouble is, I don't know what you mean by "check the connection to the flowmeter". I've had a look inside and don't know what a "flowmeter" looks like!

Is it possible to send a picture?

Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
Hiya,
No, no pictures.
You have to take the left side panel off.
Once it's off you'll see the plastic tank I referred to earlier.
You look at the tank and you'll see the flowmeter and the plug onto it.

Sorry, I'm going offline now, it will be tomorrow morning before I can pick up on this again.

Have a look at the machine, with the side panel off you can see if it's taking in water.

Thanks

OK but I think you're assuming I'm more of an expert than I am. I didn't know I had to take the side panel off to find the flowmeter - I think I need a bit more of a "dummies" guide.

No offence but I need a lot more of a step by step approach with some pictures to help me along.

Expert:  Techdesk replied 2 years ago.
OK, I can give you some guidance but step by step instruction is not going to happen. I simply don't have the hours to spare to do this.

I don't assume you are an expert of any kind.
I do expect you to have good diy skills to be trying to repair your own appliance though. I expect you to be able to take the machine apart and locate the items I describe.
(the flow meter is located within the plastic tank on the left side of the machine).

Copy and paste the following into a new browser window.
It's not your machine but the principle is the same and hopefully you can work out what you need to do on your machine from this.

You should have good diy skills before starting to work on your machine.
If you don't, you could do more damage to it.

Also, be aware, the metal work on this machine is razor sharp.
