I have a ELU wood turning lathe with an ELU motor that includes

Resolved Question:

I have a ELU wood turning lathe with an ELU motor that includes a Bosch start capacitor that has failed. As far as I can see, the capacitor in question is part number 06-0302 483 or FZ5 1029 30 mF 320 v AC. Can you supply a replacement or equivalent and at what price.

Hiya,
You should be able to use any brand of capacitor for this, as long as it's the same rating as your one.

Copy and paste the following into a new browser window.

http://www.lsengineers.co.uk/230v-capacitor-30uf-for-pre-99-belle-minimix.html

This is for a cement mixer motor so should suit your motor too.

Check it out, see what you find and get back to me if you need more help.

Hope this helps
Thanks

Sorry but this component doesnt look anything like the one required. Other searching indicates that the required Bosch capacitor also incorporates other electronic components as well as just the actual capacitor. These include inductances and at bleast one internal switch

Hiya,
Sorry, what I found doesn't indicate that at all, it simply shows the Bosch capacitor has the same internals as the one linked to.
The package on a capacitor can look different.

I'll keep looking but in the meantime, I'll opt out of the question and open it to all again.
See if anyone knows of anywhere that has old stock and may have the actual capacitor you want.

Thanks

Hi yes its likely the start capacitor is bad.
Here is one you can use in its place and it will work just fine:-)

Please rate kindly, I will stick with you until this is up and running again in case you have another issue.
Thank you and have a great Sunday!

Hiya,
Unfortunately, that's no different to the capacitor I linked you to.
At least the one I linked to was the correct voltage and in the UK.

Can you post the full model number of the appliance please?
I'm still looking and may have the replacement capacitor for you.

Thanks

It is an ELU Wood turning lathe model number 180 manufactured in the mid 1980's It is powered by an ELU motor model number 180 10 04 00 on which is a Bosch Starter "Capacitor" number either 06-0312-483 and/or FZ5 1029.

That is all the information that I have.

Sorry, I should alo have added that the "Capacitor" is rated at 320v AC

Expert:  Techdesk replied 3 years ago.
Hiya,
OK, thanks for that.

Copy and paste the following into a new browser window.
It's the ELU DB180 lathe.

http://toolsandpartsdirect.co.uk/Spare-Parts/Elu-Spare-Parts/Wood-Working/Lathes-and-Morticers/Lathes/Elu-DB180-----A-Type-1-Lathe-Spare-Parts__p-1-240-262-265-266-5318.aspx

Item 25 is shown as a condenser (possibly why you describe the existing one as different to the capacitor I linked you to).

See if this is the item you require.

Let me know if it's not, don't rate yet, just let me know and I'll keep looking.

Hope this helps
Thanks

Thank you. That seems to be the part and I have ordered a replacement from the firm in question located in Liverpool. It should be here in about 5 days which is OK.

That seems to have completed the enquiry so I guess that you will now debit my card with the agreed cost of your services. Again OK.

Is rthat it or are there any more formalities to complete?

Regards
