Dometic AES 11 RM 6505 model fridge freezer installed in Hymer

Customer Question

Dometic AES 11 RM 6505 model fridge freezer installed in Hymer caravan circa 2005 by caravan manufacturer.
Initially AES LED lights showing green.We ran out of LP gas on site when connected to mains electricity and having battery power,switched off gas cylinder,did nothing to fridge or controls,then AES LED started flashing red and fridge appeared to defrost.
Is there a fault with the fridge and or the controls or should I have done something warning AES that gas was no longer an option?
Would reconnection of a full tank of gas solve the problem?

Hi,
sorry to her that.
The very first thing to do is replace the tank with a full tank, keep in mind that if this is the only problem it will take a bit to clear the error because there is now air in the line, that wont burn so that needs to purge and to do that you need to keep trying to get it to light, until it does.
But before you change the gas out, make sure you turn the unit off at the main breaker for at least 20 full minutes, that will also cause a reset which is a good thing;-)

As mentioned above the fridge is located in a caravan in Southern France at the moment where we shall not be able to try your advice until the middle of June.
