Resolved Question:

I have just defrosted my freezer and switched it back on, the red light is flashing and the alarm is bleeping. I preseed and held the super button for 10 seconds and the bleep stopped and the -16 degree light flashed green but after about 10m minutes it started bleeping again. Whats happening, how do I get my freezer to refreez again.

5 years I think

Customer:

had a power cut last night and it restarted then

KevinWhiteJA :

OK

KevinWhiteJA :

Is the compressor running...is it hot to touch ?

Customer:

Where is the compressor

Customer:

Unable to pull freezer out

KevinWhiteJA :

the black pot at the back

KevinWhiteJA :

the symptoms that you have described indicate a control board fault

KevinWhiteJA :

just wanted to be sure if you can check few things

KevinWhiteJA :

if you can take help from someone and pull it out

Customer:

Have fridge stacked on top

KevinWhiteJA :

then try to check the pipes at the back

Customer:

pipes at back in freezer are cold

Customer:

Just getting fridge down

KevinWhiteJA :

ok

Customer:

compressor is hot

KevinWhiteJA :

Is there Ice at the back ?

Customer:

no

KevinWhiteJA :

how was it defrosted ? Did you leave it unplugged for 24 hrs ?

Customer:

No I hour

KevinWhiteJA :

OK..you will have to full defrost of the appliance for 24 hours and keep the freezer door open. This will allow the ice to defrost in the freezer.

KevinWhiteJA :

If the problem returns then it seems that the main board will have to be replaced

Customer:

There is no visible ice to defrost

KevinWhiteJA :

the ice may be inside the freezer which is blocking the evaporator to stop the air flow

Customer:

where it can't be seen

KevinWhiteJA :

you can remove the baskets inside and then remove the back panel

Customer:

think that is beyond my skills. I will try the 24hr switch off and see what happens. Thank you.

KevinWhiteJA :

OK Sure...let me know how it goes
