Hiya,
Sorry, I've been through the manufacturers list and there's no company of that name that manufactures hobs.

Schott Ceran is a manufacturer of glass for ceramic, halogen and induction hobs.
Is this what you have read?

Is the hob an induction hob, ceramic or halogen?

Thanks

Hi yes I think it must be hob is ceramic black/brown glass with black knob controls and no definrd area where hobs are

Hiya,
OK, when you turn it on, do the elements glow?

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

yes and they glow on and off

Hiya,
OK, that and the heat suggest it's a ceramic hob.

In that case, yes, the glass will get hot as will the control area as the heat is conducted through the glass.

Basically, you have hot elements below the glass that heat up the glass and this in turn heats the pans.

The glass will heat up and it will get extremely hot.
This heat will spread from the ring area across the surrounding glass.

From what you've posted, there's nothing wrong with the appliance.
It's simply conducted heat from the rings.

Hope this helps
Thanks

thank you but I have ceramic hob on main cooker at home and that doesn't get hot.other than around rings.I was concerned that this hob might be fire hazard.are all makes like that do you know please

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Hi not sure if you received my last questionAm reassured but is it acceptable for all of the hob to get so hot-doesnt happen with my other cooker. Is it just that it is poor quality and theres no "insulation"around hob to stop conduction and would there be in a better quality or are they all like that please

Thank you for your help

Hiya,
Without knowing the actual make I can't actually see what appliance you have.
If the controls are set through the glass, then it's going to get hot.

Thanks
