Hiya,
Is it a digital or analogue clock?

If digital, how many buttons?
From the left, what are they marked?

Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Digital clock. 6 holes. Marked timer start stop manual minus and plus.

Hiya,
OK, thanks for that.

Couple of things to try.

On six button timers it's normally one of the following.

Number the buttons with 1 on the left.
Turn the power off.
Wait 10 minutes.
Turn the power on, the clock should come on flashing.

Press and hold together 1 and 2.
While holding press and release the + button repeatedly to set the time.
Once set, release the buttons.
The clock should now be on manual and the time set.

If that doesn't work, power off again.

This time, press and hold together buttons 2 and 3. Use the + button to set the time as before.

Try it out, see how it goes and get back to me.

If neither works, can you post the actual model number of the appliance so I can look further into this?

Hope this helps
Thanks

Hi. We did what you suggested and the clock settled but the auto is flashing. We had switched it off for 10 minutes. Is there anything else you can suggest for the auto?

Thanks

Hiya,
Did the clock come back on with the display flashing?

If not, turn it off and leave it 1/2 an hour, then restore the power.
If it doesn't come on with the display flashing (not just the A) then it's a faulty clock.

Thanks

The display was flashing.

Hiya,
OK, so you have a faulty timer.

I'd still try turning it off and then try setting it again.
When you set the clock, the A should go out, not flash.

Thanks

We switched it off for several hours then on again. The display came on flashing and when we reset the clock the "auto" flashed down the side. We have still not been able to stop this, so it is not fully set. We know the AUTO should go out, but it is not doing so. Can you help?

Hiya,
I'm afraid it's a faulty timer.

You have to replace it or if that's not possible, see if it can be bypassed.

To replace it, you'll need the full model number of the appliance so you can see if it's still available.

To bypass it, I'd need to see a photograph of the rear of the timer and it's wiring, also the details of the contact markings on the timer.

Thanks
