Hi

Ok so if you open the door are the lights lit up?

And when you close the door do they turn off?

If so close the door slowerly and see how far up the lights go of when you close the door.

The lights come on intermittently but only when the door is open and moving. Once it is closed they are off.

Hi

Ok what happens a lot on these is the door wiring breaks so when the door opens and closes the wires break in the bend of the door.

What you need to do is remove the outer door panel and there you will see the plastic holder with the wires going down the door.

Give the wires a tug and see if any are broken. Check the thicker blue wires as its usually them that like to break.

If there is a broken wire in there repair it and fingers crossed this will cure the fault and get it working again.

Check that out and let me know what you find.

Would I be advised to switch off/unplug before attempting this manoeuvre?

Expert:  Daniel replied 3 years ago.

Hi

Yes before removing panels you will need to unplug the appliance.

Ok. I found a broken grounding wire (green/yellow) which looks like it had been burned at the break. I'll repair it and see what gives.

Bingo! I've found the broken blue wire. Will a strip connector suffice for a repair?

Expert:  Daniel replied 3 years ago.

Hi

Nice one. Its always that blue wire which breaks.

Repair the wire and that will cure the fault here.

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Replace the wire (difficult) or use a strip connector (easier)?

Expert:  Daniel replied 3 years ago.
Strip connector will do as its just a neural wire so that will be fine.

At last I have put it all together again - and it works!

Worth every penny
