RLAV21P causes RCD to trip after it had been on from cold in

Customer Question

RLAV21P causes RCD to trip after it had been on from cold in approx. 1 hour. What would cause this? If it is plugge in to a circuit with no RCD it works fine.

Hi sorry to hear that.
The problem is not the fridge?
It is the RCD outlet that needs to be replaced is all;-)
Easy to do if your handy.
If not its best to have a n electrician do that for you.
I will stick with you until this is fixed and working as it should.
Please rate kindly at this time, your question will NOT close or TIME OUT ;-)
Thank you and have a great day!

There are 3 other units which are on this circuit and we have tried these individually. No causes the trip to activate so I find it difficult to accept your answer. Could there be a fault with the thermostat in the fridge.

Hi Michael.
Thanks for your reply.
Refrigerators like your use a lot of current when the compressor starts.
So the problem is that the RCD you have the fridge plugged into is getting weak. this is normal, they get weak just like a circuit breaker in the box.
I have been an electrician for over 30 years.
You did say when you plug the fridge into a different outlet it is ok correct?
Let me know.
From what you said, I can be sure the RCD needs replacement and i will stick with you until this is done and you are sure I was right ;-)
