Bosch fridge/freezer makes a loud noise

Resolved Question:

I have a Bosch fridge/freezer that is making a loud noise when it goes through a cooling cycle. Interior is still cold, and the noise comes from the rear of the lower (freezer) compartment.

If it turns out I need to replace the compressor, what should I expet t pay?

Hiya,
Is this an integrated or free standing machine?
Thanks
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

It's freestanding. The model is Bosch Classixx, frost free.

Hiya,
OK, thanks for that.
Pull the machine out so you can get to the compressor.
When the machine is making the noise, press hard on the compressor, does the noise continue or does it stop?
Thanks

The noise seems to have disappeared. I will wait an hour, and if it starts up again, I'll try pressing on the compressor as you suggest.

Hiya,
No problem, the compressor sits on rubber mounts, check these are ok and the compressor is in place.
If it's a knocking noise and it goes to a quiet thump when you press on it, it suggests a failing compressor.
If this is the case, you would be looking around the £200 for a refrigeration engineer to come in, change the compressor and regas the machine.
Check with Bosch, they often have repair offers that can better this.
Hope this helps
Thanks
