Welcome, my name is ***** ***** I will be helping you with your problem today. If anything isn't clear, please just ask me.

Can you tell me what temperature you wash most clothes at?
Also, look in the folds of the door seal, is it clear or stained?

Thanks

sorry it is a dishwasher

Steve

Apologies, my mistake.

Does the smell appear straight after a wash cycle, when you open the door, or does it take a few hours to build up?

Is the waste pipe attached to the sink waste trap or is it in a standpipe?

Thanks.

I think its straight after a wash cycle

the waste is attached to the sink waste, which i have dismantled and cleaned

Hi Steve

Thanks

this is very odd .

The temperature and detergent used will call all the bacteria in the wash cycle.
Water should normally be left below the filters at the end of a cycle. This is to prevent bad smells coming back up, if the waste hose is connected to a sink. However, sometimes the smell can permeate the water over time.

As long as the water is there under the filter and the sink trap is clean, the smell must come from the machine itself. The likely culprit is going to be a collection of food debris under or on the rubber door seals.

Look closely at the seals, especially the one at the bottom of the door, both sides.
Even after some dishwasher cleaning cycles, this can get a build up of food debris and this can cause this wet dog type smell

Thanks
