JamesInch :

Hi,
Yes the unit will re-code, I am not sure the exact version of remote you have but looking up the manual I believe one of these codes should work.

Philips:
0586
0067
0268
0221
0117
0373
0404
0802
0039
0230
0391

Also a hand video explaining how you can re-code the unit can be found here.

JamesInch :

Is there anything else I can help you with?

Customer:

Tried all the codes but the philips freeveiw unit still not responding ,reason for changing use is the tv onics freeveiw is broken, have used the dtr button to change code perhaps I should choose dvd

JamesInch :

I see, I take it you lost the manual?

JamesInch :

It doesnt help Onics was taken over by another company, so their website its next to useless to find information these days

JamesInch :

The remote can be re-programmed it may just be the free-view box isnt compatable

Customer:

By pressing dtr , would this remote change codes to work other freeveiw units

JamesInch :

You select the mode eg DTR

JamesInch :

Then press the Sync button for 3 seconds to put it into program mode

Customer:

yes I watched the video

Customer:

Found the tv onics manual , it only gives codes for TV's and dvd's so pretty sure that it doesn't do freeveiw boxes , there is a page on reprogramming page 28 will try that

JamesInch :

Ok, the freeview boxes normally use the same codes as the TV ones, its just a few advanced features which often dont work, such as Menu, Teletext etc.
However if the codes dont work, then its probably not compatible I am afraid.
