Automatic Washing machine AWT5108/4. Problems with spin cycle

Customer Question

Automatic Washing machine AWT5108/4. Problems with spin cycle (1) Occasionally misses spin and (2) Very violent when starting to spin-even with moderate loads. The pump has been checked and is clear. What are the likely causes and costs versus buying a replacement machine?

Hi Sorry to hear that,
How old is your machine?
When you say violent does it bang or knock?
Please explain.
Thank you

Machine is over 10 years old, Iguess 12 yeaes old. The violent jumping occurs when doing the initial dynamic balancing at the start of the rinse and spin cycles. Now it jumps up and down and moves forward. During spinning there is a pronounced lateral vibration and the appliance drifts sideways. I have tried levelling the appliance on numerous occasions.
