Resolved Question:

We have a Bosch Hydrosensor Dishwasher E-Nr SRS5602GB/05 which is working perfectly except for one thing. We use Finish Classic Powerball tablets and the compartment we insert these into has stopped opening during the wash. As a result most of the tablet is still sitting in the compartment at the end of the wash. The mechanism seems to be in order and we have tried leaving it to dry out but stll no luck. I cannot see what to do about it.

Hi

So when the cycle has finished and you open the door is the tablet dispenser door still closed?

Yes, that,s exactly what happens every time. It just suddenly started doing this recently.

Hi

Ok if the dispenser door isnt opening at all then its more then likely the dispenser itself at fault. As on the back is an electronic solinode which when it has voltage going to it releases the catch and allows the door to open.
If the door isnt opening then its usually the electronic solinode thats the fault.

What you need to do is remove the outer door panel and from there you will see the back of the dispenser unit. Just check the wiring going to it and if its ok then you need a multi meter to test the solinode. If its faulty then you need to replace the complete dispenser unit and that will cure the fault and get it working again for you.

But if the dispenser unit checks out ok and the wiring is fine then im afraid you are looking at a control board fault. But to be honest its quite rare these fail for this fault. As 9 times out of 10 its the dispenser unit itself thats the fault.
