George-Allsorts :

When you say the Central Heating is off... Do you mean it is physically switched off or do you mean that it is not operating at the moment?

Customer:

The cental heating is switched off at the timer and the hot water is on but the radiators are heating up.I have to switch the unit off completely,ie both hot water and central heating.

George-Allsorts :

can you tell me the model of the boiler please

Customer:

Greenstar,4 years old

George-Allsorts :

and the actual model number?

Customer:

My instruction manual quotes from 12Ri upto 24Ri

George-Allsorts :

ok.. at least that is a start

Customer:

its15Ri

George-Allsorts :

Many thanks; let me just go look at the manual for your actual boiler

George-Allsorts :

If you have one on your boiler, can you go to the boiler and turn the knob to water only and tell me if the pump for the central heating turns off

Customer:

I can't see a knob and wouldn't know which one if it is by the water tank.

George-Allsorts :

OK.. one moment please

Customer:

I have to go offline I'm afraid. I look forward to your reply

George-Allsorts :

Unfortunately, I am sorry to say, this does sound like you have a malfunctioning timer.
