Removed my Danfloss 3060 CH timer to tile and thought I rewired

Resolved Question:

Removed my Danfloss 3060 CH timer to tile and thought I rewired it as before, but now the H off/ W twice doesn't switch the boiler on and I can't get hot water unless the heating is on. Can you tell me what I did wrong?

Hi sorry to hear that. What was the reason you removed the programmer from the system?
Thank you
Tech Michael

Accident! It just came away.

Thank you, ***** ***** is a horrible design as most techs will agree.
Please explain how you wired this back, what colors wires to what pins.
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Just checking . . . .

Expert:  Michael replied 2 years ago.
ok;-)
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

A single white wire with three smaller wires - blue to 7, yellow and green to 8 and brown to 6.

2 separate blue wires one connecting 1 and 7.

One from wall to 4.

A separate yellow and green wire to 2.

Hi I will release this question to see if another expert can assist here.

Did you have any additional links left over?
Were you able to have heating only on before the change?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Numbers 3 and 5 have no wires in them and we were able to have just heating before.

Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 years ago.
Ok, that sounds righ.
Do you have any motorised valves in the airing cupboard?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

No. No motorized valve there.

Can you confirm the controls you have;
Room stat ?
Cylinder Stat ?
This way I should be able to rowk out the wiring configuration
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

We have a general thermostat in the hall and there is one on the boiler but not on the cylinder in the airing cupboard.

Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 years ago.
Thanks for the picture.
Ok with the wiring you have you should be able to have hot water only or hot water and heating (also controlled by the room thermostat) - is that what you had before
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Yes. Now we can't get the hot water without the heating.

Can you tell me what happens if you swap the wires from connections 2 and 4 around?
Customer: replied 2 years ago.

Nothing works at all!

Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 years ago.
Ok, if you change them back it appears to be a problem with the switching of the clock.
The heating is fed by connection no.2 and the hot water from connection no.4, you may need a multimeter to check if there is power at 4 when on hw only.
