Hi, we have a Zanussi ZOA35802 oven, which is less than 6 months

Resolved Question:

Hi, we have a Zanussi ZOA35802 oven, which is less than 6 months old.
We were using it today, and the light went out part way through use as a fan-assisted oven. After that, the oven won't heat up or the light come on at all, though the digital panel at the top is lit and working fine.
I've tried turning it off for 10 mins then on again at the wall to reset everything, but after setting the clock, trying to manually set the temperature and cooking-mode, nothing happens.
I've tried setting it to a scheduled time, to go on for two minutes a few minutes into the future. When it does that, for the last minute I can hear another fan starting up, but again throughout that, no heat or light in the oven.
Does this sound like part of the oven is dead?

Is the fan still going round?

Customer:

Hi

George-Allsorts :

Heollo

Customer:

No, when setting it in manual, to just cook something, the fan doesn't start up

Customer:

ordinarily the fan and light come on, along with the heat (obviously)

George-Allsorts :

No, whilst putting it onto the fan oven setting, does the fan still rotate?

Customer:

No

Customer:

No light, no fan, nothing

George-Allsorts :

yet you say that the oven will work on the conventional setting, yes?

Customer:

It was working until a few hours ago, when the light, heat and fan stopped working

George-Allsorts :

Are you saying that the oven will not work on any setting?

Customer:

If trying to set it up with a timer, something starts whirring briefly in the last minute, but still no heat, light et

Customer:

correct

George-Allsorts :

Is the oven clock set to auto or manual?

Customer:

I've tried both...

Customer:

... the clock is set to current time, and manually switching the function and temperature does nothing

Customer:

...and trying to get it to going for 2 mins duratoin to end at in 10 mins, again no heat/light/fan

Customer:

assuming that's what you meant by auto/manual

George-Allsorts :

If the oven is less than a year old then you need to phone Zanussi/Electrolux on #08445-610-645 to arrange a repair

Customer:

Ok - do you know if they come on-site to fix that? It was bought in may

George-Allsorts :

Yes, they will fix it in your home

George-Allsorts :

Do you still have the manual for the appliance?

Customer:

Yes, somewhere..

George-Allsorts :

Look at the clock section in the manual... It will describe the auto/manual setting of the timer, just to assure yourself that it is not in Auto mode before calling them out

Customer:

Yes, we'd looked at the manual online, and had tried auto and manual modes. Can hear the 'click' when something should turn on, but nothing does...

Customer:

sounds like a Zanussi call out :-(

George-Allsorts :

Yes, I'm afraid so.. It sounds like a timer failure..

Please remember to rate kindly before leaving

Customer:

Ok, Thanks for your help. No problem
