Welcome, my name is ***** ***** I will be helping you with your problem today. If anything isn't clear, please just ask me.

Do you have the full model number?

Did the machine finish the cycle and final spin, or is there water still in the drum?

Are you able to pull the machine out from under the worktop?

Does the handle feel the same as normal or is it loose and floppy?
Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob thanks for coming back to me so quickly. I have pulled the machine out. I'm not sure which number is ***** model number but I have 2 from the back of the machine so hopefully the following is one of them:
E- Nr WAE244689B/13
FD ***********
I'm not sure whether the full cycle was completed - I had put one item in the drum on spin but there appears to be vey little water and I know it was towards the end of the cycle.
The handle was very tight immediately when a tried but it flexs a little now as it usually does just before it opens.
Thanks
Denise

Hi Denise
Great
As long as you cant see staning water through the door try this

It sounds like the lock has broken.
Disconnect from the mains
Remove the lid and lean the machine back at 45 degrees
Look inside towards the door lock
You’ll see the latch sticking through the lock
Slide this across and the door will open
If the handle is broken, take photographs before you dismantle it to replace it, they are notoriously difficult to re assemble without a picture

Can I ask you to take a moment and rate my responses so far? Please use the smiley faces which you should now see. Please remember you are rating me personally, not the website or the problems you have had with this machine.
This will not close your question and you can still come back to me if you need more help
Thanks
Rob

Hi Rob my husband has looked and followed your instruction and can only see a white plastic unit inside. Can you advise please?
Expert:  Rob replied 2 years ago.
Hi Denise
The lock will line up with where the latch passes through the cabinet

on Some of these models, there is a plastic cover over the lock which he will need to snap off to get to the latch

Im looking for a picture of it for you

Thanks

Hi
THanks
Thats the right number

Please go here
This is the lock you should see, and he latch passes through the square hole

On some of these with that number, there may be a release tab in the filter recess.
Open the flap where the filter is and if there is a plastic pull, pull it and the door should open

it doesn't seem possible as its behind the plastic cover - can you advise how we best break the cover please?
Thanks
Expert:  Rob replied 2 years ago.
Hi Denise
It should just snap off.
Worst case scenario just break it
The fact is the lock has siezed and will need to be replaced anyway
