Resolved Question:

When turning up the temperature control this morning (from the pilot light setting) the burner first fired up and then seemed to blow itself out within a matter of seconds. The pilot light will not reignite and there does not appear to be either the sound of gas coming out when the igniter is held down or any sound of a spark from the igniter itself.

Aga GC, GCB (2 oven)

Nothing at all is lighting.

Expert:  Michael replied 2 years ago.
Thank you for that information.
There is a gas flow regulator that sends the gas to both top burners and the oven when you call for it to be on. If you are sure you do have gas and if you have piped in gas, make sure the gas company doesn't have the gas off for a repair in your area.
I can help you locate a new one for your range but this repair really needs to be done by a plummer or gasman for safety issues.
Please let me know if you require further assistance.
Thank you
