Hi, Have a replacement Neff built in oven/microwave combo. There

Hi,
Have a replacement Neff built in oven/microwave combo.
There is square of plastic "film" over a plastic fitting on the top. The film appears to be marked with "do not remove" symbols, but it seems strange to have film like this on the top of an oven.
Can you please confirm whether or not that film should be removed ?

does the plastic cover any vents, probably not

it looks like it might .... hence my concern ... it has a symbol on each corner appearing to show it being peeled off but with a circle round it and a diagonal line through it, like a no-smoking type sign

thank you, ***** ***** remove that for this application. It really serves no purpose other than to protect the unit during shipping and installation;-)

ok .... but then why the four apparent "do not remove" symbols ?

Michael :

they are there because they want that covered during the process. Additionally, you can leave it in place as its not plastic but a teflon type of material so it wont burn

its just how they do things these days, but I would remove it ;-)

Makes sense - at least more sense than those silly symbols :-)
