Michael :

Hi thank you yes thats what I needed to know;-)

Michael :

I’ve taken a close look at your question. I hate to tell you, but unfortunately I don’t think the equipment involved here is worth the cost of repairs. You might even have suspected this yourself. For a lot less money than you spent on it years ago, you can fully replace it today. And for the same money, you can get higher performance with far more functionality as well. You can look online for a replacement unit, or go in person to a store.

If you still want to fix this piece of equipment and cost is no object, let me know and I will try to help walk you through it. Or, if you want to scrap your equipment for parts, let me know and I’ll try to help you with that.

I hope you find this answer helpful. If you do, please remember to rate my service. Thank you!
Warmest regards

Michael :

Panasonic has a serious issue with this and the part is very expensive and requires precision soldering as well

Michael :

I wish I had better news for you I really do, its frustrating

Michael :

Panasonic used to be very good but I would stay away from them now

JACUSTOMER-xb3gmuto- :

Thanks for the info I did think this might be the case I dont know what other makes to look at. As you say panasonic were said to be the best at one time. so I guess I had better look round.

Michael :

They used to be excellent but I see so many failures with there items

Michael :

I would look at Pioneer, Kenwood, Hitachi brands like those are still very good

Michael :

I hate to say this but even Walmart brands are better that Panasonic these days

Michael :

LG is also very high quality

Michael :

n Panasonic TVs either they are a nightmare lol;-)

Michael :

please rate kindly at this point, i will contact you right back on Q & A

Michael :

If you need more advice

Michael :

no additional cost;-)

JACUSTOMER-xb3gmuto- :

Thanks for you help I am rarther low tech and will need a more simple type. I only use it to record tv while I am out

Michael :

LOL;-) check into LG they have a great history of quality for these and ease of use as well

Michael :

Thank you and have a great day!
