***** ***** : It sounds like the connection to the water pressure switch is partially blocked
***** ***** : Do you know where the pressure is leaking?
***** ***** : Have you checked the PRV discharge pipe outside?
Customer: Yes both pipes outside are sometimes dripping and I told plumber that but why is it shutting off at 1.6 bar aren't they supposed to go down to 0.5 bar
***** ***** : The valves should hold 3 bar and should not drip - this is why you are losing pressure
***** ***** : It will not be the reason the boiler shuts off at 1.6 bar
***** ***** : Perhaps the connection to the water pressure switch is partially blocked
***** ***** : And does not react as fast as it should
***** ***** : So is not reading correct pressure all the time
***** ***** : Or same with the pressure gauge
Customer: The boiler is only 3 and a half years old plumbers been at it 5 times and it seems to be sorted when they fit new pressure switch lasts for a few weeks then starts losing pressure again
***** ***** : They should have changed the PRV to stop the pressure dropping
***** ***** : It could be a partially blocked connection to the pressure gauge - it may not be reading accurately, have they checked this?
