Can you look at the back of the freezer behind the drawers to see if you can see any ice behind the back panel

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

no there is no ice there, i have defrosted the freezer completely

George-Allsorts :

Can you actually see the fan?

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

well, i just finished doing so

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

there is no fan at the back

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

the fan is inside of the freezer compartment

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

there was some ice inside of the fan compartment but i have blown it all away(Defrosted it)

George-Allsorts :

Yes I know... can you actually see it

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

yes i can see the fan

George-Allsorts :

Can you see if the fan is siezed.. ie. try move it with something

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

it moves freely

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

when i turn it with my fingers

George-Allsorts :

Have you checked the temperature of the freezer?

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

yes

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

the fan does not kick in as its supposed to as it has to blow air into the fridge compartment as well as the freezer too

George-Allsorts :

When the fridge freezer is turned on,,, does the fan rotate... to find this out, you'll need to close the door and open it speedily as the door has a magnetic switch that turns off the fan

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

trying it now just a sec

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

no, the fan does not move at all

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

the fan does not turn

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

hello

George-Allsorts :

Sorry... lost connection

George-Allsorts :

Do you have someone who is able to use a multimeter to test both the fan resistance and the power to the fan?

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

took the fan out and tested it and the fan works

George-Allsorts :

Then try testing the power to the fan with a multimeter

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

its 220v input and it works plugged in normal 220v

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

power

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

unfortunately havent got a multimeter. but assuming there is no power from the fride to the fan whats the next thing to check

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

is there a fuse some where in the fridge to look out for?

George-Allsorts :

You need to test/replace the circuit board that supplies the fan... one moment and I'll see if I can find the part number for you

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

ok

George-Allsorts :

Found two boards... trying to identify which one is the culprit....

George-Allsorts :

In the meantime, can I ask you to take a moment to rate my assistance/responses so far? Please use the smiley faces which you should now see. Once rated, I will assist you further with the fault... The higher the rating the better for me.
This will initially close our chat but we can still re-open and continue our conversation

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

which board is the culprit

George-Allsorts :

Which board would cause the fan to lose power.. as I said, there are two boards... got to consult the oricle

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

dont worry i will rate you good if i get the response i need. thanks

George-Allsorts :

Thanks... sorry... taking some time to get the details I need

George-Allsorts :

Sorry you are having to wait... I am awaiting a wiring diagram

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

ok

JACUSTOMER-886slrzh- :

hello

George-Allsorts :

OK... the board you need is the power board C00260750 at £91.31 approx, however, the board has to be programmed using a one shot Key costing £41.62. and this goes into a programming device called a smart card reader at £116.12..

My advise to you would be to contact Indesit and ascertain their costs for replacement / refurbishment of this pcb

George-Allsorts :

You could however, send the board to EMW... Their details are:

George-Allsorts :

Do you require any further assistance?
