Kindly give the make and model number of the appliance with the problem

The model number will be on the rear of the TV on the large label in the center

How have you got the tv hooked up?

to mains and outside airial

OK .. you are connected via coaxial to the outside ariel, is that correct?

yes

Is your tv a digital tv?

Do you have anything else connected to the tv?

a dvd player

yes it is working

Can you temporarily disconnect the dvd and plug the aerial direct into the tv input

have tried that but still no signal

And if you use the dvd then you do get pictures?

yes on dvd

Then i'm afraid you need to be looking at either the coaxial cable/connections or the aerial itself

George-Allsorts :

Have you looked at the connector on the end of the coax?

suppose could be ariel cable connections ok just wondered if it could be any thing else.

or a hole/leak in the coaxial cable.... or, with the high winds recently, the aerial is out of alignment
