KevinWhiteJA :

Hi, welcome to Just answer

KevinWhiteJA :

How old is it ?

Customer:

just over 1 year - out of warranty unfortunately

KevinWhiteJA :

is it completely dead ?

KevinWhiteJA :

or the light and control works ?

Customer:

yes there are no lights on the display

KevinWhiteJA :

and it was working fine with no problem whatsoever before this ?

Customer:

yes

KevinWhiteJA :

do you hear any kind of sounds from the unit ?

Customer:

no nothing

KevinWhiteJA :

have you tried different socket ?

Customer:

no I cannot because the cable won't reach - the unit is built in. I could see if I have an extension cable - give me a few minutes

KevinWhiteJA :

ok

Customer:

just tried the extension and there is still no life in the appliance

KevinWhiteJA :

The problem seems to be with the control that is bad and will need replacement

Customer:

do you have any idea how much that would cost? The machine only costs around £150

KevinWhiteJA :

replacing the fuse has not helped and as it was working fine earlier I believe everything else is fine it is just the control that is bad

KevinWhiteJA :

yes a new control costs around £75

Customer:

does that include fitting or will the service engineer costs be on top of that?

KevinWhiteJA :

thats additional

KevinWhiteJA :

£75+ labor

Customer:

OK thanks

Customer:

looks like we might as well buy a new one

KevinWhiteJA :

you can also contact Panasonic and check if they can repair it under warranty as it is not too old

KevinWhiteJA :

if not then yes its better to buy a new one

Customer:

I'll see if Panasonic will cooperate thanks

Customer:

bye
