George-Allsorts :

Hello, my name is***** be patient whilst awaiting any responses as I'm not constantly available.

Can you tell me; when the dryer pauses.. does the dryer re-start by going in the same direction as previous?

Customer:

don't know .red light on and off every 2 secs

George-Allsorts :

you say that it starts and stops for about 10 mins... do you mean that it starts for 2 secs then stops for 2 secs and continues to do that?

Customer:

yes ithink pump starts then stopsand continues to do this

George-Allsorts :

is it when the dishwasher is filling?

Customer:

no when I open door thereis water in base

George-Allsorts :

and it is still doing this once the water has filled the tank?

Customer:

yes

George-Allsorts :

When you say 'the pump' .. do you mean the drain pump that empties the washer, or do you mean the motor (circulation pump) that circulates water around the dishwasher?

Customer:

circulation pump

George-Allsorts :

OK.. I thought that was what you meant but I had to hear it from you, rather than putting words in your mouth so to speak

George-Allsorts :

One moment please

George-Allsorts :

OK.. on that model the circulation pump is started by a 4uf capaitor... You could try changing this as this could be at fault.. alternatively, the fault is likely to be with the main PCB

George-Allsorts :

I would change the capacitor first as this is only about £5 ish to buy

George-Allsorts :

Please take a moment to rate my assistance.. Please use the smiley faces to do this.

George-Allsorts :

as opposed to the PCB cost of around £70

Customer:

did isay dryer sarts after about 10 min on Aclass 1h prog

George-Allsorts :

Yes, Capacitors can run the motor and after it has run for a short while and the motor has become warm, then it will carry on running, until the next time it is stopped..

Alternatively, a dry joint on a relay on the main PCB will have the same effect

George-Allsorts :

It could als be a fault motor, however, this is less common
