Hi

If the microwave starts but isnt getting hot then this can actually be a number of things in a microwave.
It can be either the Magntron, transformer, high voltage capacitor, diode or internal fuse. So as you can see theres a number of things that can be wrong.

Now if you are looking at fixing this yourself then you need to remove the micowave and take the outer casing off. Now you need to be very carefully messing with these as microwaves can hold very high voltages even when unplugged. They can store 4500v so before touching anything you must discharge the high voltage capacitor.

Then locate the internal fuse in there and test this. If its blown then you need to replace this and the diode as the diode can cause the fuse to blow.

If the fuse is fine then remove the magntron and look at the tip of this and see if its burnt out as they can burn. If you have a multi meter then you can test this as well for contonuity and if faulty then it will need to be replaced.

But the most common cause of these not heating is either the fuse inside, the diode or the magantron as they are the most common cause of this fault.
