Who might be able to revive it? If unrepairable, can we save the Directory?

Hi,I am sorry to hear that.
What you can try is dry the unit as best you can with a towel.
Then place it into a paper bag with about 1 cup of instant rice (enough to cover). Then close the bag and shake it a bit.
Next wait a day and repeat the shaking.
It may take a few days but this may dry the unit out as the rice wicks away the moisture in the unit.
If this works Great if not, though you wont be able to save the data unfortunately.
I will stick with you until this is fixed, please don’t forget to rate my service to you before you close this page. I will be available to you at no additional cost , you can then get in touch with me anytime by simply replying to this message.
Thank you and have a Happy New Year!

Hi Michael A cunning plan! Alas we found you 3 weeks after the event, and phone is on rack over Aga. Can I put batteries in and try it without damaging it?
