JACUSTOMER-42asdcq0- : If I am looking at the correct label then the PNC is AQF PRA891UK. I am not sure but the only other info on that label is the number 130621892401. You might need to tell me if I am looking in the wrong place!
have you tried to clean the drain pump filter assembly ?
JACUSTOMER-42asdcq0- : an additional bit of information is the a complete disconnection of the lock stops the RCD tripping. Naturally in this situation I cannot tell whether the programs will work even though they show on the lcd display.

alright Mike however, as you have already replaced the door lock assembly I believe it is fine
can you test the element for continuity with a meter ?
JACUSTOMER-42asdcq0- : Continuity is showing between the positive and negative terminals. I also checked the earth connected to both the pos and neg and continuity is also showing there too! Have I just found the problem?
you have checked after it is disconnected completely ... right ?

I am a bit pushed for time right now. Will it be ok to let you know what I find when that is convenient for you. Thanks for guiding me through to this point. Your help is much appreciated.
