have a slimline Beko DE2542 FW dishwasher. suddenly shows no

Resolved Question:

have a slimline Beko DE2542 FW dishwasher. suddenly shows no sign of power on the appliance. Have checked fuses in fused spur and also in plug all ok. Is there an internal fuse that could be the cause? Not had any problem with it up to now...

Hi

If the power supply is fine to the dishwasher then yes the fault will be the appliance itself. They dont have any internal fuse in there so it wont be that.

What you will find is its either the on/off switch, door wiring or the control board in there.

The most common part to cause this is the on/off switch as ive replaced loads of them in the past for faults like this.

You need to open the door and remove the outer metal door and the you can remove the plastic control panel. But make sure its unplugged first.

From there you will see the on/off switch on the right hand side. You need a multimeter to test this. Test between the tags when its pressed in and check its switching over. If one side isnt then the switch is faulty and will need to be replaced.

If the switch is ok then check the wiring in the door look. You need to try and open the holder at the bottom were the wires run down to the underside and give each wire a tug as the wires can break in there.

If the wires are fine as well then its going to be the control board in the plastic panel at the top.

But check the on/off switch first as most of the time for faults like this i find that switch to be the problem.
