Welcome, my name is ***** ***** I will be helping you with your problem today. If anything isn't clear, please just ask me.

This sounds like the door handle or the lock has failed

Does the handle feel the same as normal?
Can you pull this out from under the worktop?
do you have a model number?
Thanks
Rob

Think I may have sent you an incomplete message

The push button does not feel as if it is making any kind of contact either as a mechanical release or to activate an electronic lock. The button is front mounted and is not obscured by the work top. The whole assembly can be pulled forward clear of the worktop providing rear access

The model is a Hoover Performa 1100 / WA110

Hi Sally

Ok,
It sounds like the lock may have has broken.
Disconnect from the mains

Remove the lid and lean the machine back at 45 degrees

First, look at the push button mechanism. It may have become dislodged, in which case refit it.

If that looks ok,
Look inside towards the door lock
You’ll see the latch sticking through the lock
Slide this across and the door will open

If you need more help, please just ask me.

In the meantime,

Can I ask you to take a moment and rate my responses so far? Please use the smiley faces which you should now see. Please remember you are rating me personally, not the website or the problems you have had with this machine.
