, Our Worcester Danesmoor 50/70 boiler has developed

Resolved Question:

Hello, Our Worcester Danesmoor 50/70 boiler has developed a water leak. All the pipe connections are dry. It appears to be coming from under the left side of the boiler. The boiler is 10 years old. Any ideas?

Plumberpro :

Hi , could be the heat exchanger. Is the boiler noisy, nettling, hissing when in operation .eventually they crack and leak . if the pump failed it could have boiled dry and cracked

Plumberpro :

Sorry , meant nettling, not nettling

Customer:

Hello. The boiler is no noisier than usual - and works OK. Can the heat exchanger be replaced, or does in mean a new boiler?

Plumberpro :

Yes the heat exchanger can be replaced . takes a few hours

Plumberpro :

to be honest it may be better to replace the boiler . the heat exchanger may be a bout 450 plus labour. Whereas you could get a new boiler for 1000. But your boiler is pretty basic which means less to go wrong

Plumberpro :

Also new boilers are more fuel efficient , cheaper bills .
