We brought a new Kenwood integrated Dishwasher KID60S10 (yesterday)

Resolved Question:

We brought a new Kenwood integrated Dishwasher KID60S10 (yesterday) every thing has been done according to the set up details ie water and electric supplies salt and rinse aid filled the only thing is that it well not start. Have pressed the on switch have two blue dash's in display box and for a brief second all the programme neons light up but on pressing the program buttons nothing happens. have even purged the water pipe as far as I can to rid the system of air but to no avail

Press and hold the program you want to start for several seconds and see what happens from there.

Hello Daniel

As I said all the program lights come on the instance the main machine switch is turned on but literally for one second only before all going out at the same time, the only other lights on after this point are the two dashes on the small screen and the presumably the red indicator "power on" light.

have read in the manual about holding down a program button for several seconds but this does not have any effect.

Ok if the control unit just isn't resetting or starting a cycle then its either a fault on the control board or the door lock. As if the door isn't lacthing then the cycle wont start.
As its brand new then you can either get Kenwood out to fix it or take it back to your retailer for exchange.
But if you want first what you can try is remove the plastic control panel and from there you will see the door latch. Check the wires are on there and also check the wires to the control board. As you may find the wires can come loose during transport as ive found this out a few times on new appliances.
So if you are carefull doing this then if kenwood has to come out then they wont know its been opened as opening it can validate the warrenty. But to be honest most engineers don't mind as ive come across it many times and don't bother.
So check for loose connections on the control unit and door latch and see what you find. But if they are fine then its possibley a faulty control board as there isn't much you can get wrong installing it as even if you did you should still be able to select a cycle and start it going.
