i bought it in 2005 annd have not had this problem before. i am not if all my settings are now correct as i changed some while trying to fix the clock myself.

How long has it been since you re installed the main operating system?
They degrade over time also a virus will cause this problem.
It sounds like you have either a virus or need to re install your original operating system to reset the variables.

no idea this is just a dvd recorder it just needed wired to tv and pluged into power

software version is YC13/12 if this is any help

Thanks, ***** ***** can try an update to the software, when they get like this one of two things is to blame, either the clock did actually fail, which is a main board issue (not worth fixing) Labor and parts ridiculous on that one. But a lot of the time is just a corrupt file.
You need a starting point for this and they only list these #'s, but call them to get to the correct dept that will likely help you with this and any other questions you may have.
