Appliance Repair Questions? Ask a Technician for Answers ASAP
Hi, my name is ***** ***** I have been in the home improvement and repair field for 20 years. I will be very glad to help you today. Will you provide the model number? Does none of the water drain out?
tHE WATER DOES DRAIN OUT, BUT THE MACHINE NEVER SPINS FAST
No matter the size of the load?
WE TESTED IT EMPTY
No matter the speed setting? Are there two speed settings? Does it squeak or wobble when spinning?
NO SPEED SETTING IT DOESN'T WOBBLE, IT TURNS SLOWLY TO GET THE BALANCE BUT THEN DOESN'T SPEED UP TO SPIN PROPERLY.
Does it go through the whole cycle or does it stop? Will it agitate? Is there an error message?
IT TURNS SLOWLY FOR AGES, THEN BUZZES TO SAY IT HAS FINISHED THE CYCLE
It never agitates during the cycle or changes speeds?
No matter the selection it is always the same? Washing, rinsing or any setting?
DON'T UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION
You have different settings to wash. Does the machine behave the same way no matter the setting? Adds water, spins slowly then partially drains and buzzes that it is done?
I DON'T KNOW, ITS ONLY BEEN DOING THIS THE LAST FEW TIMES. THE WASHING, WHEN FINISHED, IS TOO WET TO GO IN THE DRYER.
The drive clutch may be sticking or failed since it is not spinning. The draining is activated by the spinning of the drum unlike some that have a pump that turns on the drain pump for this machine is more like a venturi type pump and if the clutch never activates the drum to spin at full speed it will not drain completely as the siphon of the venturi type pump is not completely activated.
It is almost certainly that.
IN THAT CASE, DO I NEED A MECHANIC?
It really depends on your capability. If you have strong knowledge of electrical testing and diagnostics then you could do it yourself but generally it is not really a do it yourself project.
NO, I AM HAPPY WITH MECHANICS, BUT NOT ELECTRICS. THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE.
You are very welcome. I am glad to help.
