I have a Hotpoint LFT04. I have no error codes but the machine

Hi I have a Hotpoint LFT04. I have no error codes but the machine has become unreliable, the wash cycle seems to be cut short, often it is cold and lasts just a few minutes. Sometimes the water is hot but the cycle lasts only a short period and then stops. Once stopped all lights are out and it appears as if the cycle has finished

When you start a new cycle does it always drain first, for about 45 seconds?

Does this happen regardless of the cycle selected?
Also can you tell me the age?

Yes the machine does always drain first and it does seem to happen regardless of the selected cycle, though I tend to just use the normal wash cycle.

The machine is about 4 years old

I am afraid that in that case it sounds like the main board is failing

There is no way to "test" the board due to its complex electronics.

I would suggest that the best way to get this repaired is a fixed price repair as this includes all parts needed to fix it. If it is the board, its expensive, and if you fitted it, there would be no warranty. Under a fixed price repair, the part is warrantied for 12 months.
