Hello, my name is***** you tell me the model of the TV pleaseKindly be patient whilst awaiting any responses from me as I'm not constantly available.
LG Smart TV LED. Can't find specific model number on it, but the owners manual says it is one of:
it is one of LA62, 64, 66, 69, 71, 74 or LN57, 61 or 65. Does this help?
I also have a 10-digit TV name on Settings, but that may not help.
Yes... Thank you for finding that out...Unfortunately, the news I have for you is not good... The problem you have is that the screen edge has become defective.. This requires a replacement of the screen
So what does that involve, who does it, and what is it likely to cost?
And just going back to the problem again: the strip isn't at the edge of the screen, it's inset a bit from the left.
Actually, I just returned it, and the problem may have gone away...
It involves stripping down the TV to remove and replace the screen...There are many providers of this service and this will depend on the area in which you live... If you let me know your postcode I can find a service provider for you..I would need to know the exact model to determine the cost of the replacement screen .. I can say that the cost is usually in the lower £hundreds
Or even retuned it...
How old is the appliance?
If the TV is within the warranty period, definately contact LG as this problem is one of those that once it appears, it may go away, but it will be back
I have the same problem on one of my monitors that is built in the same fashion... Each time this happens to me, and it is regular, I have to squeeze the top edge of the screen to correct the problem.
"Squeeze the top edge of the screen" - what does that mean/how do you do it?
I have to squeeze the top edge of the monitor.. What the problem is .. along the top of the screen edge are a load of connections .. these become defective.. When I squeeze the edge of the monitor, it is re-making a connection, but this is only a temporary fix.. the issue does return on a regular basis
OK, I live in west London. If I do want to do a repair - and I may just live with it for a while - who would you recommend?
can you give me a postcode?
One moment please
Need to go to work, will respond to anything else later. This is last question. Thanks.
