Our lg tv screen has just gone black, power is on but no picture.

our lg tv screen has just gone black, power is on but no picture. I have turned on and off and checked all cables are plugged in correctly

LG model 47LN578V approx 18 months - 2 years old

The sound is working fine ? and what all is connected with the TV ?

the kids were playing minecraft on the xbox when it happened and the sounds on that could still be heard. It happened earlier this morning also to my husband but he turned it off and on and it came back fine. Connected is the sky box and xbox at the moment

OK, you can try to swap the HDMI cables of XBOX and Sky Box .... and if the problem is still there while you are viewing xbox or sky box then you will have to unplug the unit and then remove the back...after this check the power board inside the unit

i unplugged all the cables and put just the sky one in, turned tv back on and the LG logo flicked up on the screen then it just stayed black again.

i have changed the cables for a spare scart lead from tv to sky and i have all the sound just still no picture. the tv is receiving from the remote as i can adjust the volume
